Shorenstein Appoints Nikitas to Head
Pru Plaza Leasing

CHICAGO, IL, - April 26, 2001 - Shorenstein Realty Services has tapped leading Chicago broker Danny Nikitas to head leasing for Prudential Plaza, a 2.1 million-square-foot trophy property purchased by Shorenstein Company LP last June.

Nikitas, joining San Francisco-based Shorenstein as a senior vice president in April, previously directed leasing for TrizecHahn Office Properties' Chicago portfolio, including Sears Tower. His team completed more than 1 million square feet of transactions in a single year and brought the 5.5 million-square-foot portfolio to more than 90 percent occupancy.

"Danny brings exceptional skills and market knowledge, proven by his impressive track record," said Charlie Malet, Shorenstein's national lease team director. "We have tremendous confidence as he undertakes his new role at Pru Plaza."

"Prudential Plaza represents a great opportunity, both to build on its current success in the marketplace and to help usher in a new era in the East Loop," Nikitas added.

Currently 92 percent leased, the two-tower complex, located at East Randolph Street and North Stetson Avenue, overlooks the city's new 24-acre Millennium Park, currently under construction. This showcase for Chicago will bring a myriad of recreational and entertainment opportunities to the East Loop. To be completed in stages, Millennium Park will include a peristyle, ice skating rink and expanded parking facility (2001); a sculpture by Anish Kapoor and a special event terrace (2002); and an indoor theater for music and dance, a bicycle parking station, fountain with changing electronic images, and music pavilion designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry (2003). Additional plans for the park include a just-announced 2 1/2 -acre, year-round "destination garden" designed by an international team of lighting, landscape and set design experts.

Nikitas, 42, of Glenview participates in industry organizations such as the Chicago Office Leasing Brokers Association and Chicago Real Estate Organization. He is a graduate of St. Michael's College in Winooski, Vermont.
