During the period that Shorenstein Company grew from a regional leasing and management company to one of the preeminent owner/operators in the country, the company was led by Walter H. Shorenstein and his past Executive Vice President, Stanley L. Berger. As a builder of the company's past, Mr. Berger's deep experience offered the company an important source of strategic guidance and advice into its present endeavors.
Stanley Berger joined Shorenstein Company in 1971 as Senior Executive Vice President. He was instrumental in the conception, planning and execution of major joint venture projects in San Francisco, Los Angeles, suburban New York, Kansas City and Houston with various company partners, including MetLife, Mutual Benefit Life, IBM and Bechtel.
Mr. Berger had been a lecturer on real estate for the American Management Association and the Building Owners & Managers Association. He had also served as Chairman of the Executive Headquarters Committee for the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, and had participated in several trade missions to Europe and the Far East.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Shorenstein Company, Mr. Berger worked at IBM Corporation for nearly 26 years. His assignments included senior management positions in the Real Estate & Construction Division, with responsibility for a wide range of corporate real estate activities including leasing and acquisition of land for future corporate development.
