Tom Hart joined Shorenstein in 1982. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s community, political, and governmental relations in the San Francisco Bay Area and plays a leading role in the company’s development activities. Mr. Hart also oversees the management and administration of a portfolio of investments held by members of the Shorenstein family.
Mr. Hart is a board member of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, San Francisco Planning and Urban Research (SPUR), and Urban Land Institute San Francisco District Council.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Shorenstein, Mr. Hart worked as a vice president of development for Marriott International in Washington, D.C. where he was responsible for development, acquisition or joint venture for over 7,000 hotel rooms in 15 properties. In 1972 and 1973, Mr. Hart served as Special Assistant to President Richard Nixon at The White House.
Education
Mr. Hart graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S., and from Harvard Business School with an M.B.A.
