Prudential Plaza

One and Two
Prudential Plaza
130 E. Randolph Street
Chicago, Illinois

Project Overview
Designed by Naess and Murphy, One Prudential Plaza was built above and beyond office standards of the day and won numerous industry awards recognizing this fact. Between 1989 and 1990, the Chicago-based architectural firm, Loebl, Schlossman and Hackl re-developed the 3.3 acre site. The plan included a new 64-story office tower, Two Prudential Plaza, an adjacent public plaza, and a new five-level underground parking garage. It also included the complete renovation and modernization of One Prudential Plaza. While the towers are architecturally distinct from a distance, Prudential Plaza is a cohesive office complex sharing a common lobby and mezzanine with matching architectural features.

Prudential Plaza occupies a full city block and is connected to an underground network of pedestrian corridors providing direct access to hotels, retail, the Chicago Transit Authority and the Randolph Street Station.

Prudential Plaza is located in Chicago's East Loop submarket, the scene of premier cultural activities including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Goodman Theatre and Orchestra Hall. The building takes full advantage of its central location offering breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River and offers easy access to Grant and Millennium Parks and North Michigan Avenue's "Magnificent Mile" exclusive shopping district.
